The
Federative Republic of Brazil has received a loan in various currencies from
the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) toward the Secondary School
Improvement and Expansion Program, having as the designated Executive Agency
the Ministry of Education (MEC). Part of the loan proceeds is intended for
eligible payments to the Project account, object of the above-cited Consortium,
undertaken on 25 April 2002, by the MEC and the Secretariat of Education of the
State of Bahia.
The
Secretariat of Education of the State of Bahia now invites interested bidders
from IDB’s members countries for the procurement of Chemistry, Physics and
Biology equipments for 69 sciences labs located at secondaries public schools
administered by the state.
The
bidding documents may be examined at the Secretariat of Education of the State
of Bahia (Secretaria da Educação do Estado da Bahia, address below) or be
obtained upon payment of a non-refundable fee of R$ 50 to the following current
account: No. 16353-8, agency 3567 - BANCO BRADESCO (237).
The
envelopes with the documentation and bids shall be submitted by 1000 hours on 6
January 2003, at the Lecture Hall of SEC, Secretaria da Educação do Estado da
Bahia, at the address below.
