Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of Medical Equipment

The Government of Trinidad and Tobago has received funds from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) toward the cost of the Health Sector Reform Program. It is intended that part of the financing proceeds be applied to the procurement of medical equipment for the Northwest Regional Health Authority, the Southwest Regional Health Authority, the Eastern Regional Health Authority, the Tobago Regional Health Authority and other health institutions. The items to be procured are as follows:

$Household furniture

$Household equipment

$Medical equipment

$Dental equipment

$Instruments

$Dental furniture

Interested firms from the IDB=s member countries are invited to submit their bids. Eligibility with respect to nationality will be determined in accordance with the applicable rules of the IDB.

Bids will be evaluated in accordance with the following criteria:

$Experience of the firm and its principals in providing successful contracting services for projects of similar nature and technical specialty

$Similar work in Trinidad and Tobago or countries of similar conditions

$Financial capability of the firm

$Evaluated price of the equipment

$Compliance with the technical specifications

$Technical features, maintenance and operating costs

$Delivery schedule

$Commissioning services

$Capacity of the firm to support after sale service

$Spare parts availability

A complete set of bidding documents can be purchased by potential bidders on the submission of a written application to the second address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US$ 50 (TT 315.00 equivalent) payable by cash or certified check to the Northwest Regional Health Authority.

Bids must be accompanied by a security of 2 per cent of the bid price. The original and six copies must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked: ATender for the Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of Items of Equipment for Primary Health Centers and Other Health Institutions (IFB No.14) in Trinidad and Tobago under The IDB Loan No. 937/OC-TT@. They must be addressed to the Chairman - Tenders Committee, at the second address below and be deposited in the tender box by 1300 hours (local time) on Monday, 16 July 2002. Late bids will not be accepted.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on 24 June at 0900 hours at the Amphitheatre AC@ of the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, at the same address, for the purpose of informing all interested bidders on this bidding process.

The Northwest Regional Health Authority reserves the right to cancel the present bidding process in its entirety or even partially without defraying any cost incurred by any firm submitting its bids. The authority does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any other tender and reserves the right to void these proceedings and no firm shall be entitled to compensation in such event.
