The Government of Trinidad and Tobago has
received funds from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to finance the
cost of the Health Sector Reform Programme. It is intended that part of the
financing proceeds be applied to the procurement of medical equipment for the
Tobago Regional Health, as follows:
Interested firms from IDB’s member countries are
invited to submit their bids. Eligibility with respect to nationality will be
determined in accordance with the applicable rules of the IDB.
Bids will be evaluated in accordance with the
following criteria:
*Experience of the firm and its principals in
providing successful contracting services for project of similar nature and
technical specialty
*Similar work in Trinidad and Tobago or
countries of similar conditions
*Financial capability of the firm
*Evaluated price of the equipment
*Compliance with the technical specifications
*Technical features, maintenance and operating
costs
*Delivery schedule
*Commissioning services
*Capacity of the firm to support after-sale
service
*Spare part availability

A complete set of tender documents can be
purchased by potential bidders on the submission of a written application to
the organization at the second address below and upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of US $50 (TT$ 315) equivalent payable by cash or certified
check to the Tobago Regional Health Authority.
The original and six copies of the tender must
be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Tender for the Supply,
Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of Items of Equipment for Primary
Health Care Outreach Centres for Tobago Regional Health Authority (IFB No. 16)
in Tobago under the IDB Loan No. 937/OC-TT”. Tenders must be accompanied by a
bid security of 2 per cent of the bid price.
The envelope must be addressed to the Chairman,
Tenders Committee, Tobago Regional Health Authority, at the second address
below, and be deposited in the tender box no later than Thursday, 17 April
2003. Late tenders will not be accepted.
The Tobago Regional Health Authority reserves
the right to cancel the present bidding process in its entirety or even
partially without defraying any cost incurred by any firm submitting their
bids. The Authority does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any other
tender and reserves the right to void these proceedings, and no firm shall be
entitled to compensation in such event.
