Agricultural Support Services Program
Competitiveness Studies

The Government of Jamaica has received a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank to assist in financing the Agricultural Support Services Program (ASSP). The Ministry of Agriculture is the executing agency for the program.
The activities of the ASSP are structured in three components:

Strengthening the delivery of agricultural support servicesC
Strengthening and consolidating agricultural and food safety servicesC
Financing selected activities in high payoff productive projectsThe Ministry of Agriculture requires the services of an individual consultant to carry out competitiveness studies on commodities in the agricultural sector.
The objective of this consultancy is to establish a mechanism, using relevant competitiveness indicators, for the identification of a significant set of crops and livestock for which Jamaica has, or can achieve, competitive advantage, with specific reference to cropping regions, technologies, markets and prices.
The Ministry of Agriculture now invites eligible individual consultants to submit expressions of interest to the Program Director at the address below.
Individual consultants seeking to be shortlisted must show proof of their technical and educational capacities, and relevant experience for the provision of the services.
A shortlist of three to six individual consultants will be selected in accordance with the following criteria:
