Consulting Services

The Government of Belize has signed a nonreimbursable technical agreement with the Inter-American Development Bank, acting in its capacity as administrator of the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), to finance the contracting of consulting services necessary for the development of health services purchasing and private health care providers project.
The Ministry of Health requires the services of a consulting firm to assist in creating a policy, a regulatory and purchasing environment to facilitate the participation of the private sector as providers of high quality competitive services. The firm is expected to provide assistance in approximately 13 specialized areas covering the following broad categories:

Development of the regulatory framework and the monitoring mechanismC
Dissemination of the regulatory frameworkC
Improvement of private sector standards and market organizationC
Development of a pricing policy for private specialists working with public facilitiesC
Development of a services purchasing plan and capacity for purchasing of health services from the private sectorThe Ministry of Health now invites eligible firms from the MIF=s member countries to indicate their interest in providing the services by contacting the Project Coordinator at the address below. Consultants seeking to be shortlisted must show proof of their legal, technical and financial capacities, and relevant experience for the provision of the services.
It is anticipated that provision of the services will begin in July 2001. A shortlist of three to six firms will be selected in accordance with the following criteria:
