Solid Waste Management Program

General Procurement Notice

 The Inter-American Development Bank has approved a loan to the Government of Jamaica for the improvement of solid-waste management in Jamaica. The loan will be used to: (a) carry out priority investments and remedial works at the Riverton City solid-waste disposal site, which serves the city of Kingston and surrounding areas; (b) close existing non-active dumps; and 8 develop a national solid-waste program for integrated solid waste management.

In accordance with the procurement procedures of the Government of Jamaica and the Inter-American Development Bank each invitation for the supply of goods or services will include; (a) a general description of the Project and of the specific services or goods which are subject to bidding; (b) the proposed method of prequalification; 8 the place, date and time at which Tender documents will be available; and (d) the place, date and time for return and opening of bids.

Where the estimated value of goods or services exceeds US$ 250,000.00 or construction exceeds US$ 2,000,000.00 advertisements will be placed in the United Nations publication ADevelopment Business@ and in a daily newspaper in Jamaica. Where the respective values are less than the above limits, advertisements will be placed in a daily newspaper in Jamaica. Advertisements may also be placed in professional and trade publications of the solid waste industry.
