This is un update of the invitation for prequalification previouly published. The changes are underlined.

The Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana has received a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank to finance part of the cost for consulting services contracts for which this invitation for prequalification is issued.

The Low-Income Settlements Program (the employer) now invites interested parties to present their respective proposals in sealed envelopes, with proof of their legal, technical and financial capacity, for the provision of design and supervision services for the construction of roads, drains, water supply systems and associated structures.

Interested consulting firms may obtain further information, including eligibility to participate, and may inspect the prequalification documents at the first address below as of 8 March 2002.

A complete set of prequalification documents may be obtained by interested companies on the submission of a written application to the same address and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US$ 10,000. The method of payment shall be by manager=s check payable to the Low-Income Settlements Program. It will not be necessary to make the request in person since the documents can be sent by messenger.

Proposals must be delivered to the second office below by 0900 hours on Tuesday, 9 April 2002. They will be opened immediately thereafter at a public ceremony, in the presence of the bidders= representatives who choose to attend.

It will not be necessary to submit proposals in person, since they may be sent by mail. However, the employer is not responsible for proposals not received by the time and date specified, in which case they will be rejected and returned unopened.
